Austin Wilson
Bass, Tuba, Baritone, and Euphonium Instruction
Austin, a native of Branson, Missouri, started his love for music in 6th grade when he chose the baritone. In 8th grade he picked up the bass guitar. In high school Austin learned trombone, tuba, upright bass and guitar. He then went on to be 1st chair euphonium in the Missouri All-State Band and 1st alternate bass in the Missouri All-State jazz band. While in high school he performed with the BOA Honor Band in the Tournament of Roses Parade and with the Springfield Youth Symphony in Carnegie Hall.
Austin currently resides in Springfield where he is pursuing his Bachelors of Music Education with an emphasis in jazz from Missouri State University. He is a member of the University Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Jazz Studies Big Band and was a junior-staff member of the Missouri State University Pride Marching Band from 2010-2011. Austin has performed bass with the Magnificent 7 Show, Missouri Jazz Orchestra (MOJO), Jazz Educators Big Band, Joan Rivers, Liz Moriondo, and the Springfield Little Theater. Austin specializes in both classical and jazz playing.
