Shawn Maxfield

Instruction in all orchestral, ensemble, and solo drums and percussion in all styles.

Maxfield spent twenty years as percussionist and drum set player with the Springfield Symphony and has performed with many internationally acclaimed artists and countless jazz, rock, Latin, and blues bands and ensembles. He's performed with local entities including Springfield Regional Opera, Mid-America Singers, MSU Tent Theatre, Springfield Little Theatre, and Springfield Ballet.

An Interlochen Arts Academy graduate who has taken master classes with Buddy Rich, Louis Bellson, Roy Burns, Gordon Stout, Butch Miles, and Jack Mouse, Maxfield holds MSU undergraduate and graduate degrees, SIU Ph.D. candidacy, and is a full-time instructor in MSU's Electronic Arts program.
